Kids' World Mission: "To promote understanding and peace by creating an inspiring, entertaining and educational international children's event which increases tolerance and appreciation of all cultures."

2008 Theme: Color Your World. Theme and logo created by TGA volunteers Megan and Scott Gaspar. TGA is adding a "green" component to the 2008 festival. Sustainability efforts will be themed "Color Your World - Green".

Festival Details: The Kids' World International Festival offers area children unparalleled opportunities to learn more about the globe and world cultures, providing a global understanding most children would never experience. KIds' world illustrates customs, languages, music, art, international food, dress, geography and faiths in a fun and friendly style.

Kids' World began in 1993 with a vision of uniting Tulsa's diverse ethnic communities under one roof to provide children with a cultural perspective and unique understanding of our world. Since then, the festival has blossomed into the premier international educational festival in the region.

Field Trip Reservations:
Field trips are open to any public, private or home school and community organizations.
Reservations are required for Thursday and Friday for groups of 10 or more students. Participating classes will receive a Kids' World International Curriculum.

Kids' World 2006 Impact Statement:

18,000 participants attended Kids' World and
learned about 30 countries/cultures.
50 scouting, home school groups from Tulsa and Northeastern Oklahoma participated in field trips.
7,137 students attended Kids' World on scheduled field trips.
1,210 admission tickets were distributed to agencies and schools serving disadvantaged children.
60 ethnic, business and civic groups participated as exhibitors and vendors, occupying 107 booth spaces.
1,500 volunteers participated at the festival.
18 international visitors from Tulsa's Sister Cities of San Luis Potosi and Kaohsiung visited Kids' World and volunteered at the Mexico and Chinese booths on Friday.

The director of Amiens, France, Sup de Co graduate business school visited Kids' World Sunday afternoon.

769 entertainers provided of 33 hours of live entertainment on the Kids' World stage.

350 copies of the Kids' World curriculum were distributed to Tulsa area teachers and to parents who home school.

Tulsa Global Alliance hosted two teacher workshops leading up to Kids' World which were attended by 100 teachers.

Students of all levels assisted in the research, promotion, and presentation of Kids' World:
  • OSU-Tulsa Advertising Campaigns class conducted research for maximum exposure and brand awareness;
  • Zarrow International School art students created "pop-up" media kits, assisted with kick-off celebration and made festival stage decorations;
  • Third graders from Kendall-Whittier were cast in the Kids' World commercial, which was created by TU students;
  • University of Tulsa's Third Floor Designs student >>>> created the Kids' World 2006 design used in marketing materials.
  • Fourth grader Aleta Surratt designed the Kids' World T-shirt;
  • Bishop Kelley junior Laura Izzo painted event signage;
  • Hundreds of middle, high school and college students volunteered on-site.
An 8-page event tabloid was published in the Sunday Tulsa World, which has a readership of 38,474.*
A 10-week Kids' World geography series, featuring Tulsa's Sister Cities, ran in the Tulsa World prior to Kids' World. Readership estimated at 254, 055 per issue.**
Eisenhower, Zarrow, and Newcomer International School students performed on the Kids' World stage Thursday and Friday. Eisenhower and Zarrow were also exhibitors.
An historic chunk of the Great Wall of China was on display at Kids' World.
McLain High School of Science and Technology exhibited its award-winning robot built by students.
Sister Cities International Young Artist Winners and Tulsa's "My Hometown Around the World" Sister Cities Photography Contest were also on display during the festival.
