Presented in celebration of Tulsa’s Sister City in France, Amiens, see this beloved French film back on the big screen while learning about our Sister City and other Francophile events in Tulsa. The film will begin at 2pm, and come early for extras in the lobby starting at 1pm! The cash bar will be open to enjoy a glass of wine while seeing a Tulsa Global Alliance display on Amiens, France and chatting with Alliance Française de Tulsa about more great French events in town.

About the film: Amélie (original title Le fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain), became an instant classic on release in 2001 from director Jean-Pierre Jeunet. The film received a staggering 13 nominations at the César Awards (French Oscars), including wins for Best Film and Best Director. The success translated across the Atlantic, becoming the highest-grossing French film released in America en route to 5 Oscar nominations. Quiet and reserved, Amelie Poulin (Audrey Tautou) spends her days as a waitress at a Paris cafe and entertains herself by playing kindhearted practical jokes on her father and her neighbors, finding love in the meantime. Shot in over 80 Parisian locations, acclaimed director Jean-Pierre Jeunet ("Delicatessen"; "The City of Lost Children") invokes his incomparable visionary style to capture the exquisite charm and mystery of modern-day Paris through the eyes of a beautiful ingénue.
