Global Education

Global education is a core pillar of Tulsa Global Alliance’s work, rooted in the belief that global connection starts with curiosity. We help people of all ages experience the world by bringing it to them through learning, celebration, and meaningful exchange. Through classrooms, community spaces, and international partnerships, our global education programs make the world more accessible, more tangible, and more personal for the Tulsa community.

  • Tulsa Global Alliance’s Culture Boxes bring global learning into classrooms and community spaces through hands-on, sensory experiences. Created in partnership with Eisenhower International School, each box represents a different culture and includes artifacts, books, games, and educational materials designed to spark curiosity and conversation.

With more than 50 Culture Boxes available, educators and community organizations across Tulsa use them to make global learning tangible and accessible for learners of all ages. The boxes support classroom instruction, cultural programs, and community events, helping participants explore the world without ever leaving the city.

  • Tulsa Global Alliance supports international student exchange programs that foster global understanding through immersive, relationship-based learning. TGA serves as treasurer and co-coordinator of student exchange programs in partnership with Tulsa Public Schools, including Eisenhower International School, Henry Zarrow International School, and Felicitas Méndez International School.

Through these exchanges, students develop cross-cultural communication skills, global awareness, and lasting connections with peers around the world. While exchange destinations and formats may evolve from year to year, the focus remains the same: preparing students to engage thoughtfully and confidently in a globally connected world.

  • Global education at Tulsa Global Alliance extends beyond K–12 classrooms through partnerships with libraries, universities, parks, and community organizations across Tulsa. These collaborations allow us to support learning opportunities that reach people of all ages, from large public celebrations to smaller, hands-on cultural experiences.

Over the years, this work has included programs such as Kids’ World, World in a Box Day with Tulsa City-County Library, and Global Gatherings at Gathering Place. While specific programs and formats may change over time, their shared purpose remains constant: creating welcoming spaces where families, students, and community members can explore global cultures together.
