TGA, the Alliance Française de Tulsa, and Tulsa-area French language teachers invite you to a special evening as we welcome guest teachers from Tulsa’s Sister City, Amiens, France. These educators are visiting as part of the Fall 2025 student exchange program.

Celebrating 20 years of partnership, the Tulsa-Amiens Sister City connection has brought together students, educators, and civic leaders through language, culture, and shared experience. From classroom exchanges and French film nights to mayoral visits and global education events, this relationship continues to thrive. Coffee with the Councilors 2025
TGA’s annual Coffee with the Councilors brought together city leaders, board members, and Sister City representatives to celebrate Tulsa’s global connections. Over a spread of international dishes, attendees shared updates on cultural exchanges, global education, and the economic impact of international relationships.

On November 27, 2023, City leaders, family, and friends gathered outside City Hall to dedicate Sister Cities sign #5 in memory of Cathy Izzo, TGA’s longtime Sister Cities Program Coordinator.
Amiens Students Visit Tulsa
Twenty-eight Amiens students visited Edison High School for a two-week cultural exchange with Tulsa host families.
Coffee with the Councilors: Annual International Breakfast at City Hall
TGA hosted its annual International Breakfast and Coffee with the Councilors on October 25, 2023, featuring Sister City–themed foods and remarks from Tulsa leaders about recent global engagement efforts.
Bastille Day Gathering in Tulsa
Tulsa-Amiens Sister City Partnership and Alliance Française de Tulsa celebrated France’s Independence Day with a lively Bastille Day gathering at Hop the Griffin. About 40 guests enjoyed food, conversation, and even a group singing of the French National Anthem, making for a festive night of French culture.
Dedication of Fourth Sister Cities Sign
Family, friends, City officials, and TGA representatives gathered on June 1, 2023, at McCullough Park to dedicate a Sister Cities sign in memory of Arnulfo Murillo Muñoz.
Tulsa-Amiens Student Exchange March 28 to April 11, 2023
A two-week exchange brought students and teachers from Amiens to Tulsa, where they lived with host families, joined classes at Edison High School, and explored Tulsa’s favorite cultural spots.

Tulsa Deputy Mayor Cassia Carr traveled to Amiens, calling the city stunning and emphasizing the importance of strong global partnerships.

Ambassador Philippe Étienne was welcomed by members of the Tulsa Global Alliance–Amiens Sister City Partnership during a recent visit to the Oklahoma History Museum.
Third Sister Cities Sign Dedicated at River Parks
On October 20, 2022, TGA dedicated the third Sister Cities directional sign at 68th and Riverside, with remarks from city leaders and cultural blessings shared by the Muscogee Nation.
Screening of Petite Maman at Circle Cinema
The Tulsa Amiens Partnership hosted a special screening of the French film Petite Maman with Circle Cinema and Alliance Française de Tulsa, where the evening’s remarks and a tribute from Circle Cinema honored the memory of Cathy Izzo.
Second Sister Cities Sign Installed at GRC Park
Tulsa’s second Sister Cities directional sign was installed in December 2021 at GRC Park at 88th and South Yale Avenue, sponsored by CCK Strategies.
First Sister Cities Sign Dedicated at Tulsa Ports
In 2020, TGA and the City of Tulsa celebrated 40 years of Sister City partnerships with the dedication of the first Sister Cities directional sign at Tulsa Ports, sponsored by Advance Research Chemicals.
Amiens Visitors Join Tulsa Run
A delegation of 13 visitors from Amiens came to Tulsa for the 40th Anniversary of the Tulsa Run, with nine participants braving frigid weather and Amiens runner Mélanie Doutard finishing first among women in the 5K.
