Dedication of Fourth Sister Cities Sign

On June 1, 2023, family and friends joined City officials, TGA Sister Cities Partnership Chairs, Board members, and staff at McCullough Park near East 25th Street and South Garnett Road for the dedication of a new Sister Cities directional sign. The sign is dedicated to the memory of Arnulfo Murillo Muñoz, honoring his life, legacy, and connection to the Tulsa community.

The ceremony featured remarks from TGA Board Chair Dr. Ruby Libertus, sign sponsor Arnie Murillo, Maria Murillo-Sanchez, Deputy Mayor Cassia Carr, and City Councilor Chris Bengel. Speakers reflected on the significance of the Sister Cities program and the meaningful ways community members like Arnulfo have contributed to Tulsa’s global story.

A QR code on the sign provides the Murillo family story in both Spanish and English, offering visitors a bilingual way to learn more about the individual whose memory is honored at this location.

The McCullough Park sign becomes another landmark celebrating Tulsa’s commitment to global friendship and the personal stories that strengthen our city’s international connections.
