Art Without Borders: Beihai Exhibit Connects Tulsa to China
Tulsa Global Alliance was honored to help bring a breathtaking display of Chinese artistry to Tulsa through the Beihai Art Exhibit, held on April 19 at Tulsa Community College’s Northeast Campus. This special exhibit featured original works from our Sister City of Beihai, China, offering Tulsans a unique opportunity to experience traditional and contemporary Chinese visual art.
The exhibit included vivid scroll paintings, delicate ink landscapes, and colorful floral studies—each piece highlighting the skill and cultural depth of Beihai’s artists. From detailed renderings of plum blossoms and peonies to serene mountain villages brushed in subtle watercolor tones, the artwork transported guests across the globe through its beauty and craftsmanship.
Tulsa Global Alliance extends special thanks to the talented artists whose work was featured in the exhibit: Lu Yuqing, Li Xirui, Chen Hui, and Zhou Yusi. Their contributions brought the spirit of Beihai to Tulsa and reminded all who attended of the power of art to transcend distance and difference.
We are especially grateful to Dr. Alpha Zhang, Chair of the Beihai Sister City Partnership, and Shiqing Huang, Deputy Chair, for their support and leadership in coordinating this exchange. We also recognize Qin Shen, a Tulsa-based art educator whose ongoing work helps cultivate and share Chinese artistic traditions in our local community.
Finally, we extend our sincere appreciation to the volunteers who helped with setup, marketing, hospitality, and welcoming guests throughout the event. Your efforts helped create a warm and engaging space for cultural exchange.
Events like this exemplify Tulsa Global Alliance’s mission to build global friendships and foster mutual understanding through shared experiences. We look forward to many more cultural collaborations in the future.
