Reception Celebrates New Honorary Consul and 30 Years with Utsunomiya
On June 29, the Consulate-General of Japan in Houston and the Japan-America Society of Oklahoma hosted a reception in Oklahoma City to celebrate several milestones: Dewey Bartlett’s appointment as the new Honorary Consul of Japan in Tulsa, Hiroka Thornton’s selection as the new President of the Japan-America Society of Oklahoma, and the 30th anniversary of the Tulsa–Utsunomiya Sister City Partnership. Utsunomiya Mayor Sato sent a congratulatory message for the occasion. Tulsa attendees included Micah Keyan, who was pictured with former Honorary Consul General Lloyd Hardin, as well as community leaders celebrating the continued strength of Oklahoma–Japan relations.
