Tulsa Asia Fest 2026: A Vibrant First Chapter
Tulsa’s first Asia Fest brought together community members, cultural organizations, and international partners for a day filled with learning, celebration, and connection. The event highlighted the rich diversity of Asian cultures represented in Tulsa and offered a meaningful space for residents to explore global traditions close to home. Tulsa Global Alliance was honored to participate and share the stories of our Asian Sister Cities with festival attendees.
Showcasing Tulsa’s Asian Sister Cities
At the TGA booth, guests were invited to learn more about four of Tulsa’s Sister Cities in Asia: Tiberias, Israel; Utsunomiya, Japan; Beihai China; and Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Each city reflects a unique cultural heritage and a long-standing commitment to international friendship. Throughout the day, our booth served as a welcoming hub for conversation and discovery.
While visiting the TGA booth, attendees enjoyed the following:
Sister City postcards featuring iconic landmarks, cultural traditions, and delicious recipes
Sister City brochures detailing highlights and history from our Sister Cities
Globe squeeze balls and keychains that invited discussions about geography and our global community.
Taiko no Tatsujin, an interactive drum video game that simulates playing a Japanese taiko drum at a festival. It’s always a favorite activity for families and young festival‑goers!
The steady flow of guests created a lively atmosphere where people of all ages could explore Tulsa’s global connections in a hands‑on, engaging way.
A Strong Start for a New Tulsa Tradition
Asia Fest 2026 offered a vibrant mix of performances, demonstrations, and culinary experiences representing cultures from across the continent. With thousands in attendance, the enthusiasm from attendees showed how eager Tulsans are to learn about and celebrate the international communities that enrich our city. The festival’s success reflects the growing interest in global engagement throughout the region.
For TGA, the event underscored the value of people‑to‑people diplomacy. Every conversation at our booth, every postcard collected, and every drumbeat from the Taiko game reinforced the idea that global understanding begins with simple, joyful interactions.
Looking Toward Future Festivals
We are grateful to everyone who visited the TGA booth and helped make the inaugural Asia Fest such a memorable experience. Events like this strengthen Tulsa’s role as a welcoming, globally connected city, and we look forward to continuing this tradition in the years ahead.
As we plan for future festivals and international programs, we welcome community members to stay engaged and explore the many ways to connect with our Sister Cities around the world.
