Former Tulsa Mayor Susan Savage and former San Luis Potosí Mayor Mario Leal Campos reunited at Philbrook during the opening of the “Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera, and Mexican Modernism” exhibit, reflecting on ties formed during a 1990s Tulsa delegation visit.

Fire officials from San Luis Potosí visited Tulsa for the rededication of the Sister City Fountain at the Tulsa Fire Museum, with remarks from Mayor Bynum and the Consul General of Mexico.

Tulsa’s second Sister Cities directional sign was installed in December 2021 at GRC Park at 88th and South Yale Avenue, sponsored by CCK Strategies.

In 2020, TGA and the City of Tulsa celebrated 40 years of Sister City partnerships with the dedication of the first Sister Cities directional sign at Tulsa Ports, sponsored by Advance Research Chemicals.

A program on monarch butterfly migration through San Luis Potosí was featured at Guthrie Green’s Festival of the Americas as part of the Passports to Global Cultures Program.
