Russian Film Programs at Circle Cinema

Circle Cinema has hosted several Russian film programs that align with Tulsa’s ongoing cultural connection to its Sister City of Zelenograd. In 2019, audiences attended a special screening and lecture featuring the documentary Meeting Gorbachev, which explored the life and impact of former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev. That same year, Circle Cinema also featured a Second Saturday Silents presentation of Sergei Eisenstein’s landmark 1925 film Battleship Potemkin, accompanied by live pipe-organ music. These events offered Tulsa residents an opportunity to experience Russian history and cinema through engaging public programs supported by Circle Cinema and its community partners.
