Dinner Diplomacy in Tulsa – Summer, 2026
Thanks to the Global Ties U.S. Dinner Diplomacy program, and a special grant from Marriott International, Tulsa Global Alliance hosted two wonderful evenings this summer that brought international professionals and Tulsans together to enjoy conversation, food, and friendship.
On July 2, entrepreneurs from Algeria, Ukraine, and Vietnam gathered with Tulsans at NEFF Brewing to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States with hot dogs and apple pie. Tulsans shared stories of the role of citizens and entrepreneurs in our nation’s founding, and the international guests shared their experience as business leaders in their countries. One of the entrepreneurs, Nabil, from Algeria, reflected “Being welcomed and fed so generously like I was a part of the family, made me really happy and optimistic for the future of Tulsa, cause the people there were just amazing, friendly, and open without looking at the origins, gender or religion.”
On August 20, a crowd of Tulsans and a group of young German leaders enjoyed pizza from Andolini’s at Marshall Brewing Company. The Germans felt this was a great opportunity to meet people from all ages, from high school students to older adults, to see that their transatlantic connection with the U.S. is strong, and to enjoy food with Tulsans. One of the Germans, Laurent, said "It was good to bond with Americans over a meal and hear about their experiences in Europe. We made offers to visit each other, and what began with pizza will definitely have a great long-term impact."
