TULSA GLOBAL ALLIANCE ANNOUNCES MICAH KEYAN AS NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa Global Alliance (TGA), the city’s award-winning organization for fostering citizen diplomacy, has named Micah Keyan as its new executive director. As an experienced nonprofit leader, Keyan will further TGA’s mission to build global community.
Keyan’s experience in international relations and nonprofit leadership will guide Tulsa Global Alliance into a new era of global engagement and community enrichment. As executive director, Keyan will lead the organization’s efforts to deliver high-quality programming, strengthen relationships with Tulsa’s nine sister cities and elevate Tulsa Global Alliance’s profile and impact in Oklahoma and beyond.
“As Tulsa Global Alliance approaches its 50th anniversary in 2026, I’m excited to help lead our next chapter as we continue to build global community between Tulsa and our friends and supporters around the globe,” said Keyan. "TGA’s programming, including reciprocal homestays with my host family in our Japanese sister city, has had a profound impact on my life. I look forward to enabling even more of these experiences for others as we continue to promote the principles of citizen diplomacy.”
Keyan’s involvement, volunteerism and leadership experience with Tulsa Global Alliance span more than a decade. Before being named executive director, Keyan served in multiple leadership roles within the organization, including vice chair of sister cities, chair of the Tulsa-Utsunomiya, Japan sister city partnership, and interim sister cities program coordinator.
“On behalf of the TGA board, we are thrilled to have Micah as our new executive director,” said Kaitlin Flinn, Tulsa Global Alliance board chair. “Over the years, he has demonstrated continued dedication and understanding of TGA's mission, and under his leadership we will grow our programming and increase our impact.”
A lifelong Tulsan, Keyan was most recently the technology integrationist at Holland Hall. Beyond his teaching and curricular responsibilities, he traveled internationally with students and facilitated hosting opportunities for students visiting from Tulsa’s sister cities. He previously worked at PennWell Corporation and Apple, and was a co-founder and director of Tulsa's popular Name Your Game Expo. Keyan holds a bachelor of science in business administration from the University of Tulsa and an associate degree in Japanese language and culture from Tulsa Community College.
