Mayor of Celle Visits Tulsa

Tulsa Global Alliance welcomed Dr. Jörg Nigge, Mayor of Celle, Germany, for an official visit that highlighted the strong and ongoing partnership between Tulsa and Celle. Over the course of several days, Mayor Nigge met with Tulsa leaders, explored community institutions and took part in cultural and economic exchanges that reflect the depth of the Sister City relationship.

During his visit, Mayor Nigge met with Mayor G. T. Bynum, members of the Tulsa City Council and senior staff from the Mayor’s Office to discuss shared priorities in economic development, education and civic engagement. He toured the Gathering Place, visited Tulsa Public Schools, met with leaders from Tulsa Community College and the University of Tulsa, and attended a luncheon with the Rotary Club of Tulsa.

The visit also featured community-level engagement, including a reception at Marshall Brewing Company with TGA partners, Sister City volunteers and local supporters of the Tulsa Celle relationship. A dinner hosted by former Tulsa Mayor Rodger Randle offered another opportunity for connection and cultural exchange.

Mayor Nigge’s visit strengthened the long-standing friendship between Tulsa and Celle and reinforced the value of people-to-people diplomacy that continues to shape the Sister City partnership.
