Amiens Visitors Join Tulsa Run

From October 25 to 30, 2017, Tulsa welcomed a delegation of 13 visitors from Amiens who traveled to participate in the 40th Anniversary of the Tulsa Run. The visit strengthened the long-standing Tulsa Amiens Sister City relationship and offered the group a chance to experience one of Tulsa’s signature community events.

Despite the frigid temperatures on race day, nine visitors from the delegation competed in the Tulsa Run. The highlight for Team Amiens was the outstanding performance by Mélanie Doutard, a competitive runner from Amiens, who placed third overall in the 5K and was the first female to cross the finish line in that race. Her finish was a proud moment for the visitors and for supporters of the Sister City partnership.

The visit combined athletics, friendship and cultural exchange, adding another memorable chapter to the connection between Tulsa and Amiens.
