Tulsa Global Alliance Recognized as Nation’s Best Sister Cities Program

For the fourth time in its 50-year history, Tulsa Global Alliance was awarded top honors for its Sister City program. 

Competing with hundreds of programs across the globe, Tulsa was presented by Sister Cities International on July 24 at the organization’s Anniversary Homecoming in Washington, D.C. for the Best Overall Program Award.

The 45th Anniversary Sister City Series: Zelenograd

Zelenograd, Russia is known as the “green city,” and its Sister City connection with Tulsa runs deep. For over 30 years, students, doctors, and community leaders have exchanged not just visits, but friendship and understanding. Twenty-three women entrepreneurs from 23 countries visited Tulsa through the U.S. State Department’s International Visitor Leadership Program. During their stay, they met with local business leaders, explored cultural sites, and connected with the Tulsa community through home hospitality and hands-on experiences.
