Tulsa Welcomes Youth Ambassadors from Canada
Tulsa Global Alliance welcomed 12 Canadian Youth Ambassadors for 10 days of cultural exchange, civic engagement, and community connection. From volunteering at local nonprofits to meeting Tulsa leaders and sharing life with host families, the students experienced firsthand the spirit of hospitality that defines our city.
Tulsa Hosts German Bundestag Delegation Through “Beyond Washington” Program
Tulsa Global Alliance was honored to host 20 staff members of the German Bundestag through the “Beyond Washington” program, funded by the U.S. Embassy in Berlin. During their five-day visit, the delegation engaged with Oklahoma leaders in government, business, and education to gain a deeper understanding of the U.S. heartland. Highlights included policy meetings, cultural exchange, and home hospitality dinners that fostered meaningful transatlantic connections.
IVLP Spotlight: Women’s Entrepreneurship and Economic Prosperity
Twenty-three women entrepreneurs from 23 countries visited Tulsa through the U.S. State Department’s International Visitor Leadership Program. During their stay, they met with local business leaders, explored cultural sites, and connected with the Tulsa community through home hospitality and hands-on experiences.
Visiting Professionals: Current Political, Social, and Economic Issues for Young European Leaders
TGA hosted 6 professionals through the U.S. State Department’s International Visitor Leadership Program. This program aimed to connect Americans across the country with young European leaders - and introduce these European leaders to the innovative ways Americans are working to address political, economic, and social issues at the federal, state, and local levels.
IVLP Spotlight: Transitional Justice in Africa and the United States
In April 2024, Tulsa hosted a multinational delegation from Africa focused on transitional justice in the United States and abroad. Through meetings with Greenwood Rising, the Black Wall Street Chamber of Commerce, and Native legal advocates, the group explored history, reconciliation, and pathways toward justice through global dialogue.
International Librarians Visit Tulsa Libraries
In January 2024, librarians from Mongolia visited Tulsa as part of a professional exchange focused on exploring the United States through libraries. Their time at the Sac and Fox National Public Library highlighted the role libraries play in community connection, education, and cultural exchange.
