Tulsa Global Alliance welcomed 12 Canadian Youth Ambassadors for 10 days of cultural exchange, civic engagement, and community connection. From volunteering at local nonprofits to meeting Tulsa leaders and sharing life with host families, the students experienced firsthand the spirit of hospitality that defines our city.

Tulsa Global Alliance was honored to host 20 staff members of the German Bundestag through the “Beyond Washington” program, funded by the U.S. Embassy in Berlin. During their five-day visit, the delegation engaged with Oklahoma leaders in government, business, and education to gain a deeper understanding of the U.S. heartland. Highlights included policy meetings, cultural exchange, and home hospitality dinners that fostered meaningful transatlantic connections.

Twenty-three women entrepreneurs from 23 countries visited Tulsa through the U.S. State Department’s International Visitor Leadership Program. During their stay, they met with local business leaders, explored cultural sites, and connected with the Tulsa community through home hospitality and hands-on experiences.

TGA hosted 6 professionals through the U.S. State Department’s International Visitor Leadership Program. This program aimed to connect Americans across the country with young European leaders - and introduce these European leaders to the innovative ways Americans are working to address political, economic, and social issues at the federal, state, and local levels.

In April 2024, Tulsa hosted a multinational delegation from Africa focused on transitional justice in the United States and abroad. Through meetings with Greenwood Rising, the Black Wall Street Chamber of Commerce, and Native legal advocates, the group explored history, reconciliation, and pathways toward justice through global dialogue.

In January 2024, librarians from Mongolia visited Tulsa as part of a professional exchange focused on exploring the United States through libraries. Their time at the Sac and Fox National Public Library highlighted the role libraries play in community connection, education, and cultural exchange.

In October 2023, IVLP participants from Canada and Mexico explored women’s leadership in manufacturing and STEM education through visits with NORDAM and the Girl Scouts of Eastern Oklahoma.

TGA hosted eight IVLP participants from eight countries to explore U.S. energy policy and innovation, including meetings and lunch at the University of Tulsa during the September 30 to October 4, 2023 program.

In September 2023, a European delegation visited Tulsa to explore best practices in foreign investment screening through meetings with Bank of Oklahoma, Oklahoma State University, and the Cherokee National Museum.

In September 2023, Iraqi energy experts visited the University of Tulsa as part of an IVLP exchange focused on best practices for building a modern and efficient energy sector.

In September 2023, IVLP women entrepreneurs from Chad met with Kuma Roberts at the Black Wall Street Chamber of Commerce to explore women’s entrepreneurship, business leadership, and community-based economic development.

In June 2023, IVLP participants from Moldova explored multi-ethnicity in a democratic society, including a visit to the Cherokee Phoenix newspaper (article linked) and the Tulsa Global Alliance Annual Meeting at the Tulsa Central Library.

In June 2023, international energy professionals participated in a U.S. State Department–sponsored exchange focused on sharing best practices in energy infrastructure, technology, and global collaboration.

In May 2023, IVLP participants from Azerbaijan visited Tulsa as part of a U.S. State Department–sponsored exchange focused on developing and sustaining corporate social responsibility.

In March 2023, International Women of Courage honorees from Argentina and Costa Rica visited Tulsa through an IVLP exchange focused on human rights, advocacy, and community-based solutions.

In November 2022, French museum professionals visited Tulsa through a U.S. State Department IVLP exchange focused on building relationships between Native American communities and French museums. The program was later featured in the Global Ties U.S. newsletter.
