The Beihai and Kaohsiung Partnerships celebrated Lunar New Year at community events throughout January and February, sharing culture and performances at schools and organizations across the Tulsa area.

A Tulsa delegation visited San Luis Potosí for the Festival de Ciudades Hermanas, joining 430th anniversary celebrations and exploring new opportunities for cultural and educational exchange.

Senator Jim Inhofe shared a video greeting to San Luis Potosí for its 430th anniversary, honoring the Sister City relationship he first signed in 1980 as Tulsa’s mayor.

Thousands gathered near downtown Tulsa as Oktoberfest opened with its lively parade, marking the start of five days filled with German food, music, and culture.

Tulsa Global Alliance representatives attended the Mayor’s Consular Reception at the Summit Club on October 19, joining Honorary Consul Dewey Bartlett, Consul General Murabayashi, Aurora Murabayashi, and local partners to strengthen international relationships.

San Luis Potosí Partnership Chair Clark Frayser received the Hispanic American Foundation award for Years of Support and Dedication to Building Global Community during the 2022 Noche de Gala.

On October 20, 2022, TGA dedicated the third Sister Cities directional sign at 68th and Riverside, with remarks from city leaders and cultural blessings shared by the Muscogee Nation.

TGA representatives and friends gathered at Fassler Hall on October 3 to celebrate German Unity Day, joining Tulsa’s German community for an evening of connection and culture.

Beihai Partnership Chair Dr. Alpha Zhang joined NPR’s Focus: Black Oklahoma to share how local groups work together to strengthen multicultural connections in the state.

TGA and Marshall Brewing Co. released Sister City Cerveza, a Mexican-style lager honoring San Luis Potosí, with a launch event on September 15, 2022 at Marshall’s Taproom.

Tulsa Mayor G. T. Bynum and Utsunomiya Mayor Eiichi Sato shared video greetings celebrating 30 years of Sister City friendship between Tulsa and Utsunomiya.

GAST’s annual Germanfest filled the weekend with food, music, and community spirit. The Tulsa-Celle Sister City Partnership joined the celebration alongside volunteers and friends from across TGA.

Marshall Brewing Company debuted a Utsunomiya Strawberry Wheat beer in honor of the 30th anniversary of the Tulsa–Utsunomiya Sister City Partnership at the SAVOR festival on August 31.

At World in a Box Day, the Utsunomiya table invited children to translate their names into Japanese, make origami Pokémon, stamp passports, and play “Taiko no Tatsujin.”

Former Tulsa Mayor Susan Savage and former San Luis Potosí Mayor Mario Leal Campos reunited at Philbrook during the opening of the “Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera, and Mexican Modernism” exhibit, reflecting on ties formed during a 1990s Tulsa delegation visit.
